National Public Radio will bring the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and keeper of the Cash family legacy to Seattle for “NPR On Location with Rosanne Cash,” an evening of music and conversation at 8 p.m. May 1 at the Paramount Theatre.

Cash, the eldest daughter of the late Johnny Cash, will perform a number songs, including those from her recent album, “The List.” She’ll be accompanied by John Leventhal, her husband and producer. At the end of the program, the audience will get a chance to pose questions.

The prolific singer-songwriter has released 11 album since her self-titled debut in 1978. In 1985, she won a Grammy Award to “I Don’t Know Why You Don’t Want Me.”

Host of the program will be Michele Norris of “All Things Considered.” The unusual event will be presented by Seattle Theatre Group and produced by NPR in collaboration with member stations KPLU, KUOW and KOPB (Portland).

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday (March 12). Purchase reserved-seat tickets ($35-$45) at the Paramount box office and Web site.
