The Dears' tour bus
Just as the Dears were preparing to launch a six-week North American tour, the rock band’s tour bus was stolen from the parking lot of a Comfort Inn in Montreal, Canada, while the driver was asleep in the hotel.
Fortunately, no gear or luggage was on board, and the band’s trailer was left at the parking lot.
The huge bus is a Prevost series 60 with license plate number V957YW. The graphics are so distinctive, it’s a wonder anyone would think of stealing it.
The bus caper hasn’t derailed the tour, though. The band kicks off the trek tonight in Toronto. The tour includes a show May 27 at the Crocodile Cafe.
