A celebration of the life and music of Fabulous Wailer Kent Morrill
The life of Fabulous Wailers pianist and singer Kent Morrill, who passed after a long battle with cancer April 15 surrounded by family members and friends at the Tacoma home where he grew up, will be celebrated at 7 p.m. tonight, May 4, at the Temple Theatre, 47 Saint Helens Ave., Tacoma. Admission is free.

CONCERT REVIEW: Chris Cornell rocks the rafters at Moore Theatre

Even without the crazy news that Osama bin Laden had been killed by U.S. forces, the crowd at Chris Cornell’s hometown solo acoustic show Sunday night at the Moore Theatre was thoroughly pumped up, if not a bit crazed. And a few were well-lubricated for the occasion.

Seattle’s Noise for the Needy Festival rocks for Real Change June 7-12
The 2011 Noise for the Needy festival was announced today by Campaign Shoutin’ Communications.
Among the more than 80 artists performing June 7-12 at Seattle venues are Brendan Perry (ex-Dead Can Dance), Detroit Cobras, Akimbo, Loch Lomond, Fresh Espresso and The Pharmacy.
Proceeds will benefit the Real Change Empowerment Project, producer of Seattle’s Real Change street newspaper.
