Battle of the Tech Bands

Can geeks rock?

Find out tonight (July 30) at 6 p.m. at the “Battle of the Tech Bands” at Pyramid Alehouse, 1201 First Ave. S., across from Safeco Field.

Finalists include Afraid of Figs, Between These Lines, Indigo Soul, Juda’s Wake and Lions Ambition. You can listen to samples of their music here.

The “summer celebration” event is presented by Xconomy and the Washington Technology Industry Association. I’ll be writing a short review of the event for www.techflash.com.

Judges include music historian, curator and author Peter Blecha; Steve Hall, managing director at Seattle-based Vulcan Capital; and Jeff J. Lin, Microsoft program manager of Virtual Earth 3D (Lin is also member of Seattle band Harvey Danger).
